Have your wedding featured in a magazine!!!! February 24th, 2010

I am so excited that the staff of WV Living is working on the next issue of WV Weddings!  It is going to be amazing!!!! The most exciting part is that you have the opportunity to feature your wedding in the magazine to share with other potential brides and to showcase your favorite photos from your wedding. I think that this is a great keepsake for you to have and share with friends and family, it is sold for an entire year at many big and small retailers around the state.

If you don’t know what the magazine is or where to find it, you can check out the website for the magazine here: WV LIVING MAGAZINE www.wvlivingmagazine.com

The other very exciting part is that the cover photo will be picked from the submitted weddings, so hurry up and take a chance that you could be on the next cover!!!

Last year one of the couple’s I photographed was actually featured on the cover, they were beside themselves!!!

A photo:

If you were married between January 1, 2009 and March 15, 2009 – click here to download the submission form: WV WEDDINGS SUBMISSION FORM (if the link gives you an error, copy and paste this into your browser, I was having trouble getting this to link: www.rdevono.com/info/WV WEDDINGS .pdf      You should be able to download directly.

And, I also wanted to point out that the cost is very low for magazine print. If I photographed your wedding and you decide to submit, I would of course like it to so you will get a print credit from the studio (for reprints of wedding photos) in the amount of $ 100 for a single page submission and $ 200 for a double page submission. Your credit will be valid from March 1 – June 30 to use as you wish. :)

If you would like to submit and need my help selecting or sending photos on your behalf, please let me know in the next few weeks. (On or before March 5 would be ideal)

If you need the submission form and can’t get it downloaded from the site, you can also email: brides@wvlivingmagazine.com

Jennifer + Adam – the wedding post…… January 28th, 2010

On a snowy snowy day in December, Jennifer and Adam were married at the Erickson Alumni Center in Morgantown, WV.

A lot of brides having winter weddings hope for snow, these two got around 12 inches or so. :) I was so worried that we would get behind an accident (or be in one) on the way there, but all was well and the wedding was awesome!

Jennifer had really pretty red shoes. When we went outside for the snow photos, she changed into her UGGS so we didn’t get these pretty shoes messed up. I generally keep a pair of rubber boots in my car just in case, and if you get married in the spring, fall, or winter, they come in pretty handy to keep your wedding shoes looking nice.

This was candid which is probably why I like it so much, but I think Jennifer looks so beautiful finishing up the details of her getting ready activities.

We took this one for two reasons. One, for the back of her gown, and two, check out all that snow! I’m sure that the snow will be something they talk about every time they talk about their wedding when they share the story with the children someday.

They saw each other before the ceremony, and these are always some of my most favorite photos……

Then, during the ceremony, I got teary eyed watching Jennifer.

Married!

Some couple’s portraits of them:

This was not something I told them to do, just something they did and it was really really really sweet.

We braved the elements and took some photos outside:

Congratulations! I am so happy for you guys!!!! To see the rest of the highlights from the day, click HERE. Enjoy!!!

Jennifer Reaves - These are so wonderful. Thank you so much for everything!!!! We truly can\'t thank you enough!!!!
Aunt Donna Zookl - Thanks for sharing the beautiful, beautiful pictures!! I especially appreciate seeing them since I couldn\'t be there.

Tracy + Matt January 27th, 2010

Tracy and Matt were married at the beautiful Lakeview Resort in Morgantown WV. The wedding ceremony and reception was both inside which is a nice feature of the resort.

They had some really fun ideas, here are a few of my favorites.

They made this little box to keep the rings in:

A photo of the chairs set up for the ceremony in the library, I was surprised by how many fit in here! :)

This is such a clever idea. In the program were puzzles for the guests to work on while they waited. I would like to do this if I were a guest!!!

The ceremony was sweet, and is generally always my favorite part of the day. That and when they come back down the aisle for the first time.

I think that they look pretty happy to be married now!!!

I caught them looking at their rings, I always thing that it is cute when couples do that.

We got in some casual portraits of them prior to the reception:

And, I always think a good candy bar is the bomb!!!! Check out this one!

Matt is in a band, along with a lot of the groomsmen for the wedding, and they played after the DJ. The reception was really fun and full of energy, I think that everyone had a great time.

And, if the groom plays the drums at his reception, we can’t let a photo of that not be included on the blog post!

Congratulations again to you both, thank you for such a fun filled day!!! I wish you a lifetime of happiness!!!! To view the highlights of the day, CLICK HERE. Enjoy!!!

This is how I kind of feel today, except I am not this cute. ;) And, if my head cold doesn’t go away soon………

he is very much a newborn (under 10 days) but he has beautiful skin, i just had to share one in color…….i have officially decided that when we leave the hospital, we are stopping at the studio on the way home……(my husband will LOVE that…..)

such a good little model:

as you can see, he is very very loved.

and, it is generally difficult to make a baby post without including baby feet:

thanks little guy for being so cooperative. what a sweet job i have.

Katie - Simply beautiful, Rebecca! Thank you so much for this sweet stage of life for us!!
Jessica - These are absolutely beautiful! Rebecca has done it again!

part of my getting all caught up project….. January 7th, 2010

Cary and Nick, Part 2!!!

Cary wanted to take a few more photos after the wedding, because, well, sometimes big weddings are hectic and you just can’t get all the photos that you would like to get in on that day. SO, we met up this fall at the Carriage House in Fairmont, which is a very cool place for photos. My brother-in-law and his cutie wife are having their “official” wedding ceremony there this summer, I can’t wait.

I knew they would be fun, Cary is very photogenic and Nick is a good man and does what we ask him to do. :) I think that they will have a successful marriage, that is all it takes Nick, do what the girl says!!!!

I will be making a mini wall collage of several of these to hang on the walls as part of the “new studio photo project” – I will post photos as more is complete on that – I just can’t decide on which ones to print the biggest. I love all these.

Nina + Stephen, the wedding January 6th, 2010

My other fall wedding I have been dying to post! Next up……winter weddings!!!

Nina and Stephen are incredible people individually and together, well they couldn’t be more suited for one another. I was so excited for their wedding. I had so much fun shooting their engagement photos last spring in Lewisburg, I knew the wedding day would be fun!

The wedding was in Wheeling, WV at Oglebay Park It was unusually sunny and chilly this day but still nice for an outside fall wedding. I’m so glad that the weather was good for them, the formal gardens are a perfect setting……

Some of my favorite parts of the day:

They had their rings custom engraved with sentimental messages:

The flower girl and ring bearer were darling! I love this shot of him!

Stephen was so excited to see Nina for the first time, he talked about it a lot when we were taking the guys’ photos. I loved seeing his face when he saw her.

I love this hand holding going on here:

And, this was my competition for the day, Nina’s grandpa, isn’t he adorable? He took photos the whole day! :) Too cute.

Kate + Michael January 5th, 2010

I thought that they should get their very own post.

Kate and Michael were married at the beautiful Stonewall Resort. We started early and plenty of time to get some fun photos prior to the wedding. I love this photo of Kate, she looked so happy and very radiant. Being around her made you feel happy. I also love this view of her bouquet, made by the uber talented Cara Edwards of Blooms in Bridgeport.

And, Michael, who looked very dapper himself.-258

They saw each other before the wedding, which I love every time. The anticipation of the groom is always fun to watch!

This shot was per the request of the couple, they saw it on a wedding blog and wanted something similar. I love it, and I hope that they do!

Another shot of the bouquet. It was so beautiful I had to touch it and I had to take a lot of photos of it too.

And, then, there was this. This is the part of the day I had to draw a deep breath and gaze starstruck at these invitations. Oh letterpress how I love you…….makes my heart still………. Letterpress is such a lost art. I will be sending letterpress birth announcements this time, with photos attached in some way of course. These were awesome. See how the words are pressed into the cardstock. You really do have to touch it to completely appreciate it. I would never throw an invitation like this away. Never.

Happy New Year, and a beautiful wedding…….. January 5th, 2010

I have several beautiful weddings and some beautiful bridal sessions and some beautiful couple session to blog, I hope to blog a whole lot. Now that I can finally take a deep breath and re-charge. The end of the year was pure chaos, actually the last six months, and I am much looking forward to some catching up, the new year, and whole lot of new adventures for 2010. I am so thankful for all of the awesome people I get the pleasure of working with and my family and friends. If you are one of these people, thank you for allowing me to work with you and share in your special moments and documenting these special times. Thank you thank you thank you.

Now, if it would quit snowing long enough to get the kids back to school……. (that would be just a little more time in my day) ;) I’m just saying.

I really wanted to post this before Christmas, but besides being really really really busy with holiday orders and photos, we all ended up getting a stomach virus. In my husbands opinion, he had it far worse than any of the rest of us, but it was pretty bad. I photographed a wedding last weekend for a couple who got it two days before the wedding. I felt so bad for them, but they were ok by the wedding day. More on that wedding soon! I have so much wedding goodness to share, I have shot weddings in blizzards, on Mondays, and in sub zero temps in the last month.

Now, for the Kate + Michael Wedding……….
