Stephanie + Cody

Tuesday, October 26th, 2010

I think that all girls should have their dream wedding. Regardless of what that is, they should do it if they have the opportunity. This day, although it is only one day, will be one you remember for the rest of your life. Stephanie was a very lucky to get this beautiful and perfect wedding day.

The weather for the day was unreal, sunny and pleasant, and exactly what you would hope for with plans for an outside wedding.

Stephanie told me that the most important photo that she wanted to see was what Cody looked like when she was coming down the aisle, here you go:

Late Summer Wedding Perfect-ness:

We took so many photos after the wedding, I had a hard time selecting my favorites, I mostly loved them all!

I loved the wedding colors, bright colors have always been my favorite anyway, but pink and blue – what is not too love. Check out those blue shoes!

And then there was the horse and carriage!

A quick image of the pink cake – my heart be still……….

It seems like couples do this a lot when they walk away, but I always love the shot:

Stephanie and Cody – congratulations on an absolutely beautiful wedding day. I hope you have many years of happiness to come!!!

i have done so many portrait sessions in the past month, but i have loved every one of them!!! here are a few images from the stack for the parents who are waiting anxiously…..

Oh my. She is so sweet:

And, this is one of my favorite types of family photos. I would love to have one just like this one!

And, another very sweet little lady:

Don’t worry – there are a lot more where this came from!!! :)

and an engagement session….

Wednesday, October 6th, 2010

I’m trying to post a lot of my recent photo sessions. I have had the best time over the past few months!!! I can’t wait to work with these two next year!

If you had a street named after someone in your family how could you not got take a photo with it?

We had the best time, and I think that they think I am funny. Look:

I saw this in my head first and we had to do it. I LOVE the way it came out.

And, this is a re-creation of a photo of her Grandparents. We took several, but I like this one the most!

Congrats to you both on your engagement! I will be looking forward to next June!!!

my blogging list is long, however –

I could not help myself for a sneak peek of Mara and Josh’s wedding!!!

This wedding was so special to me, it seems like it was only yesterday when this day was in the very early planning phase. Even though I am tremendously happy for them and their family, I am going to miss our wedding discussions!!!! This is a very brief sneak peek, I loved almost every photo the entire day, so picking these was difficult….

This is Mara:

And, then the serious very beautiful version of the above:

And this is Mara too, in the oh my gosh, I am totally getting married in two hours, finally, do I look perfect or not?  Um, YES!!! You look amazing Mara!!!

Every little ring bearer should get to have his photo taken on a big John Deere tractor!

And, we know that I could never post a photo of the ring bearer and not the flower girl, this little lady has the most beautiful eyes. She was a little distraught before the wedding and didn’t feel much like getting her photo taken, so we didn’t press that issue. Then, later, in a moment when there was a lot of other things going on, she and I were standing in front of each other and she gave me that “ok, I’m going to let you take my photo but we are not going to make a big deal about it” look, so I did, and this is the photo:

And from one mother to another, here is one for you Toni!

During the ceremony:

Married!!!

That is all for now, but more is coming soon!!! :)

Kerina and Peter’s Wedding

Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

He stood on the stage at the reception and told us all how he played Kerina the song he was about to play….and that he went to pull his guitar pick from his pocket, but instead pulled out an engagement ring…..she said it was pretty…… then she obviously said yes. ;) She watched him while he played that song like no one else was there. Peter, I hope you keep playing love songs to Kerina…….

When Kerina told me that she was going for a vintage look I couldn’t have been more excited. If I were planning a wedding today, I would do something just like this. She really thought of so many details, she reminds me so very much of my sister in law, with all their special touches, I can’t believe they don’t know each other.

She was at her house getting ready with all of her bridesmaids and since the reception was at the house to, there was much to do and a lot going on here…… by chance I walked in on this moment. Although I did take a few more after the real one happened, this was the real moment, when Kerina’s dad was coming downstairs as her mom was helping her with her veil. Someday this photo will probably be even more special than it is now:

I popped outside for some detail shots, there are so many, and they are in the slideshow, please please watch it………

And I couldn’t write this post without mentioning this very handsome young man:

I find this photo very moving:

We went to take some photos in random places and following one of our walks through a field, Peter was fixing her dress……I was standing there just waiting and I noticed how the wind was blowing her hair and the sun was highlighting them so perfectly…..how could one not take this photo?

And a fun photo with one of the details Kerina made……I LOVE this idea!!!

Not everyone could get away with this photo, but it totally works for them:

Sweet:

I will most likely print a ton of these photos for samples, I love this look!

Kerina and Peter – Congratulations on your marriage, I hope you are always this smitten with one another. :)

Lauren and Adam’s wedding

Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

I looked forward to this wedding all summer. I had such a delightful time with these two during the couple’s session, I knew that the wedding would be a really special day. They are both very beautiful people, on the inside and out.  These two make me laugh and although the photos below in the field look nice and easy, believe me we were HOT! Adam was especially uncomfortable with the tux on and all, but that didn’t stop him from trying to make Lauren more comfortable………..

Before the ceremony we took some photos of Lauren and the girls:

I loved the flowers so much I thought that they deserved their own photo. Photos by Blooms florist, Bridgeport WV.

And then we did photos of Adam and the boys…….. I think Lauren and Adam make the most wonderful couple……..

And I couldn’t leave out this lovely young lady: (another superb job by the flower girl…..)

I could have featured every photo from the slideshow on my blog I honestly loved everything about this day. The people, the laughter, the lighting, this FIELD, everything. One of the things that really stood out to me all day was Adam’s tenderness to Lauren. He would gently touch her arm (I love the ceremony shots of this) and help her move from one place to the next, and when she was hot and her feet hurt from the .25 mile walk we took into a hot hay field, he just swept her all up and carried her though. To Lauren’s parents, your baby is in good hands… :)

The next two photos are some of my favorites from the day leaving the hay field. We weren’t actually taking photos at this point, just trying to get back to the car but I turned around at Lauren’s laughter and got these shots – totally real.

This is what we walked through the field for. The old wagon is very special to their owner and we sure did enjoy being able to take these photos there. I love them!!!

And, I had to post a peek of the Waterfront, which was beautiful as always……

So happy enjoying their first dance together…….

And, a very special dance with Lauren’s mama and her friends……I bet that they gave her some good advice….. :)

Lauren and Adam (and Becky), thank you for everything. I will remember your wedding with pleasant thoughts always. I wish you the best of the best of the best in love and each other.

Jamie and Travis’s wedding

Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

I am very confident that Jamie and Travis were sure about their decision to get married, seeing as how they met in college…..over an offer for Jamie to take a ride in Travis’s camaro….. they have been together for years, through college and jobs and more college…….. They both have an appreciation for beauty so it would be no surprise that they would choose Stonewall Resort for their wedding. The wedding was intimate but detail filled, and it could not have been more perfect.

Jamie, Bloom’s Florist, and the wedding coordinator at Stonewall put together this incredible table. (there are more photos of it on the slideshow, click below for the link!)

Jamie was quite a vision of loveliness:

Check out the aisle flowers:

A view of the ceremony site during the wedding:

Married! and happy!

This little girl was one of the most beautiful flower girls I have ever seen, I had to feature a few of her too! :)

The evening was more perfect than we could have even asked for. I could have photographed them for hours……….

This is a perfect photo of how these two are, sweet!

And, I had to post a photo of the hard-working staff at Stonewall…. Kelly, you did an incredible job with the wedding…. (and cutting the cake)

Jamie and Travis, I hope you guys share many many happy years together…….(and lots of rides in the camaro)

Sam + Ryan

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

There are some people that are so sweet together that I leave the wedding over joyed and so very happy for them. Sam and Ryan are exactly this. I am so thankful for the lovely people that I have had the pleasure of working with, like these two.

Sam wore some seriously high heels, I had to share just how high they were!

I love the walk down the aisle in this church, it is so long, I always feel like I am watching in slow motion:

I think Ryan was liking what he was seeing:

Just before Dad gives her away:

Beeeaautiful!!!

Sam, you look like an angel:

One of my most favorites of the day:

Vintage beauties:

They looked so happy during their first dance that I couldn’t stop shooting:

The get-away car!

Sam and Ryan, and both of your wonderful families, thank you thank you thank you for an incredible experience. I wish you the best of everything and a lifetime of happiness!!!! To see highlights of the day, click here. ENJOY!!!!

Kylee + Matt

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

In my opinion Valley Falls is a perfect example of “Almost Heaven” WV. The first time I visited I could not believe that something so grand and beautiful was so close that we could go there almost any time we wanted.  When I have a photo session there I like to arrive early if possible and just sit there and listen to nothing and everything. Some day I’m going to get up really early and see if I can’t find a yoga teacher to go out there an indulge me in the ultimate – a quiet yoga session in the morning light and fog of Valley Falls State Park. If anyone is in to yoga and wants to join us, email me-I am going to set this up if at all possible.

So, after now knowing how I love this place, one can only imagine how much I was looking forward to a wedding here. Plus, Kylee and Matt are so sweet together, this was the ultimate day for me. The morning started out a little rainy (yikes!) but it cleared up and turned into a beautiful (and hot) afternoon. We didn’t complain about the heat really, we were just so glad that it wasn’t raining…….

These two had a romance budding for years…..in fact, Matt picked this very rose (the white one) for Kylee on prom court….it was so special to her she kept it through the years…little did she know that someday that would meet again…..awww……

Kylee looked so beautiful:

Matt looked pretty good too:

I think that this was genius. I wondered how they were going to get Kylee to the end of the aisle without it 1. taking a really long time and 2. Matt seeing her. The pink umbrella really made the entire thing……. ;)

And, Kylee’s mom was very thoughtful and surprised her with a steel drum band. It was perfect for this wedding overlooking the falls.

Another great idea:

One of my favorite candid shots from the wedding, Kylee checking out her ring right after it went on her finger.

The beautiful newly married couple:

Then we ventured down to the falls for some casual portraits:

This is one of my all time favorite scenic wedding photos ever:

I loved so many of these photos, I had a hard time narrowing them down for the slideshow…… here it is if you want to see it, this was an awesome day. To see the highlights from the wedding click here.

Congratulations Kylee and Matt – you are so wonderful together, I hope you are always this happy + more. :)

Susanna + Zack

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

Finally……updating my blog…… this is one of 8 weddings I will be adding…….. this makes me so happy…..

I think that weddings very often take on their own “personality” if you will, of each of the people who put their ideas, time, love, and hard work into them.  Susanna is so sweet and caring, the day very much absorbed much of her throughout. Weddings have a tendency to evoke high levels of stress at any given moment, and Susanna if this is as stressed as you get, Zack is set for life. :)

Sentimental details on the wedding bouquet:

I normally don’t post posed photos, but this was kind of candid while we were doing posed photos, so I think that it is ok……. Susanna’s mother loves her baby girl so much, this makes me smile over and over……..

I think her dad is rather fond of her as well, and for good reason……… She looked so beautiful coming down the aisle.

This church was incredible, the colors in the cross were unbelievable.

Married! (and always one of my favorite shots!)

Sweetness:

I thought the cake sitting here looked awesome, I had to post it:

The father daughter dance gets me every time, this was no exception:

Susanna and Zack, I hope you have all the love and happiness that two people can have. Thank you for sharing your special day with me, it was such a pleasure. To see highlights from the day in a slideshow, CLICK HERE. ENJOY!!!!
